Winter is the most Yin aspect in Traditional Chinese Medicine. A time of stillness when the earth lies fallow with dark, cold, slow energy; yet we continue to strive and rarely take time to rest during the holiday season. When we don’t align with the slower qualities of Winter, we can experience the Winter Blues with feelings of being down, depression and low energy. The good news? Winter is an opportune time to focus on replenishing that inward energy as it naturally re-ignites itself to prepare for the outburst of new life and energy in the Spring. It’s a time when taking time to pause and rest is critically important to boost our immune systems and replenish our bodies, hearts and minds.
This 2.5 hour mini-retreat includes
- Yin yoga to stimulate the physical organs of the body, especially the Kidney + Bladder which are the organs related to Winter.
- Long held delicious poses focused on opening the back body and inner thighs to replenish the Kidney + Bladder energetic meridians, to release fear, insecurity and depression.
- Guided pranayama (breathwork) & meditation
- Restorative yoga to allow the body to metabolize the benefits of this deep practice
All levels welcome.
